PS: total weight of the order is 10kg

That is one load of figures (about 40-50 unit packs :?: ) My record is about 6Kg from Vendal when they did a 40% deal a few years ago.

No, only 25-30 Tony :)

It's an omnibus order, as usual. But there are so much more unit deals: sumerians, sea people, normans, saxons, sassanids.......

BTW Business as usal for a greedy escapist like me ;)

Cheers
Olaf

PS: My record is an omnibus order from Gripping Beast with 15kg two years ago, me think. P&P was worth 50GBP if I remember correctly :)

I've just bought the Chariot Wars book (I've been playing ECW and a bit of WAB with Romans until now) and I've been looking at Newline. The prices are fantastic, but how is, say, an Isrealite army going to do against the Celts or Spartans which are going to constitute its opponents? Am I better off buying more expensive Assyrians from somewhere else? Or do none of these armies do well against non-Biblical armies?

Israelites are tough because of having a lot of stubborn troops, even the chariots are stubborn :) If possible mix them with maccabean jews form SHQ Miniatures (which is a former Newline range sold to SHQ) which will mix well with the Israelites and you have also an army for roman opponents. Ben wrote a list for jewish revolt, have a look at the unofficial army list section. SHQ prizes are pretty nice too, especially for army deals which are made by request.

Newline is planning to make an assyrian range soon, IIRC.

Thanks! I like the idea of Assyrians but I'm really bad at waiting for releases so I may go with Israelites. If my wife will let me spend the money... I'll have a look at the Maccabean Jews.

Hi there.

I've painted the 145 libyans (four chariots are to be done) and next will be the sumerian army which I bought at the last day of the extended offer :)

Here some snapshots. As soon as they have their weapons they will raid the first cataract near Aswan :)

Just had a look at the Newline page, assyrians/babylonians/cimmerians(!)/mycenean armoured infantry are available (with pictures ! :) ) now !! Oh my goodness, Sean seemed to be very busy :)

I may create a loaner army of Libya for the Chariot Wars event at the TTU from them, Christopher :) Could be 1600 points with characters and chariots.

Yes, the new models, assyrians and armoured myceneans look really nice and nicer with the price :)
Funny to see the nubians, cimmerians, assyrians and babylonians are listed as own subsection of the biblical ranges which makes me hope some more stuff will follow.

Have to ask Sean about to start a Tang Chinese and Tibetan dark age range...... ;)

He has to be pretty busy by sculpting all that figures plus making nice pictures of them. Very good development for the company me think. Even the handling with the new shop software plus the very good and friendly customer support via mail is pretty nice and welcome. I wish them all the best.

Cheers

indeed,Olaf really push for a Chinese warring states period if you could. There really isn't one I like at the moment and with his rapid increase increase in product quality and very fair price would make him a perfect candidate to do it.

There is no question if he keeps this up of a fair mix of quality and price he going to be a favorite amongst WAB players and other large 28mm army collectors before to long.
