Midianites gathering

Postby colin knight on Fri Apr 17, 2009 11:42 am

Trouble is again stirring in the desert as a host of Midianites gather to raid and pillage their neighbours. As their numers gather only an organised force can resist this tide of malice. Anyway to the point. Immortal Miniatures exellent range of Midianites again done with Army Painter. Palm Trees are Hovels which I rekon are some of the best (very durable).

Yep, good stuff. 8) 8)

Love the scenery too, who manufactures are the palm trees, they look just the thing for a display game we've got in the works.

Cheers,

Darrell.

Re palm trees, I recently completed a bunch bought on eBay; they might be a useful aletnative to the above. The leaves aren't as nice, but the trunks are good and the price was right! Picture is clickable:

Thanks for comments guys. I plan on a full Midianite army to add a bit of variety to the table. Immortal have more planned for anyone else planning one. Simon, you could do with one to go with all those palm trees. The terrain is simple. Just like a big base using a cheap table mat covered in builders sand and dry brushed. The water was left sand free and painted green then gloss varnished. Rocks in background cork from railway model shop on a table mat big base.
Meant to add the camels were given a drybrush of bleached bone before Army painter applied.

Hi Colin,

Yes I could do with a Midianite army (I need some opponents for my Assyrians). Alas I have too many armies on the go, already, though...

The Midianites gather in strength at the Oasis of Bin Al Over. The Assyrian tactic of impailing their warriors has served only cause more anger than fear.

Nice work! Where did you source the impaled figures from? I already have some 15 that I snipped off of Horroclix "Vlad the Impaler" figures, and might want to model some variety in poses:
