WAB Napoleonic "the french touch"

Postby Custodes on Mon Sep 08, 2008 8:23 am

Hello guy :D
After i've write WAB/ACW rules for the french Vae Victis magazine, i'm attacking a "big cake" : WAB Napoleonic.
This exercice seem realy be a good idea for many peoples in the french WAB communty, and i sent the first attempts of the rule to many WAB players :D

So, here's some preview picture :

Hi Cyrille.

That looks very nice. Do you write the rules in english? :)
If so I'm interested in reading them. May be possible to play SYW with.

Cheers

Cyrille, have a look here:
http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/inde ... Napoleonic

There you can find a Warhammer Napoleonics rulespack:

Maybe interesting.

I'm very sorry. My knowledge of the French language is awful! Any chance of a translation for us ignorant English types?

Cheers,

Guy

Hi everybody.

This is my first post in this forum, so I will introduce myself (if there is a better place to do this, I have not found it, sorry) I am Spanish, aged 45. I have been playing wargames 30 years ago, first with 25mm Hinchliffe figures and in sucesive years, with all the scales and material I have found interesting. Last year I opened a wargaming shop in my city and I have returned to play with 25/28mm napoleonic miniatures. Actually we play Sam Mustafa´s "Lasalle", but I have readed in my bad french this "french touch" of Warhammer. The ACW mod is extraordinary incredible too. I have some doubts about the last, but I do not know if the author can answer in this forum or it wolud be better by pm.
Anyway, I have started also a campaign project with El Cid rulebook and I will post some pictures of our growing armies in this site, both for El Cid and ACW and Napoleonics.

Well, I will continue asking here if you find it correct.

Ciao

Angel.

Thank you very much for your kind reply:

My French is quite bad, but I presume that dismounted cavalry can only form in tiralleurs or skirmish formation, it is correct?

On the other hand, about the servant of artillery pieces, what happens when you are under the minimum number of crewmen required for a gun?

Because some of us are very interested to play WAB ACA, we start a german translation. The rules and all the other stuff look fantastic and the rules themself seem to be nice/funny/good/adequate. Plenty of good ideas in it. We will start playtesting and after some games and plenty of conversation with Cyrille we may have a good german version too. If so I can start to make an english version. Hopefully we will see us in Strasbourg this september to discuss all the details of the rules. But they will work very good with WAB 2.0 me think and are solid already. Great piece of work, Cyrille et al. Happy to see WAB expanding into a new period.

Cheers
