Combined weapons.

Just a quick one. Do units have to have the two words "Combined Formations" in their army listing to be able to take this. I only ask as I have seen a number of units with the option to take one weapon or another yet they are the same unit type.
For instance a Norman retainer can have a thrusting spear and shield but he can dump these for a bow if he wishes. Could I have 10 thrusting speared retainers and 10 retainer bowmen just behind them in the same unit? Its not written in the AoA2 that they are combined so I guess its a no. Just wanted to see if I was correct and chance my arm a bit! :roll:

You must have either the combined formation or mixed weapon rules to mix weapon types in the same unit.
