Sassanid Armies list - clarifications

I have 2 questions about the Sassanid list and would be grateful for clarifications please

1. Sassanid Nobles under AoA are not Eastern Shock Cavalry, is that intentional?

2. The Late Armies Army Standard Bearer has no hand weapon listed, unlike early armies. I would have thought that a standard bearer would go into battle with a weapon, so is that an errata?
