Could somebody tell me who supplies the Simplex 20Hp tractor and rolling stock as shown in the Great War rulebook? I am aware of one supplier for a 40 Hp armoured 'tin turtle' in 5.5mm scale (ie 1:55).

I thought the one in the rule book was scratchbuilt but I maybe wrong, I'd be interested in finding out what supplier of the of the other one you mention is :)

Malcolm Savage Models. He seems to just do the one locomotive and no matching rolling stock. 5.5mm scale is a model railway oddity which has survived from the 1960s when the smallest commercial track gauge was 12mm. It was superceded by 9mm (or 'N' gauge).

I think that I found the answer to my question. Wargames illustrated was lurking on my doormat this evening and says that it was scratchbuilt. Looks like an interesting article on big guns in WW1 games too.
