Armour Values?

Postby davemorrall » Tue Oct 27, 2009 11:35 pm

Apologies if this has already been asked, but how do you work out Armour Values for AFVs in TGW? I've just cobbled a 1/72 Putilov Garford armoured car together and would like to work out some stats for the wee beasty.

Any pointers would be appreciated!

Hi Dave,
if you do a Google search for 40k vehicle design rules you'll find the old White Dwarf rules for working out points for scratch built vehicles.

They work well for 40k, and looking at them now they don't look far adrift for Great War. Not perfect, but a good starting point.

Cheers Dave. Did have a quick look at the 40K VDR, but they're not much help to be honest!
I think the Putilov Garford would work out as Front/Side Armour 9, Rear 8, with 3 VMGs and a 76mm (Med?) gun. Supposedly not a very fast machine, so probably give it a movement of 9"
I've also done a couple of Russo-Balt armoured cars, which I reckon will be Front/Side 8, Rear 7, 3 VMGs and Fast 12" Movement

Yes, the Russo Balts are card models from http://allfrompaper.narod.ru/indexe.htm reduced down to 1/72 and the Putilov is off the PaperPanzer website

OTT will include quite a few different new AFVs incl the different armoured cars used on the Western Front. I guess that you'll be able to use one of these statline for your (nice) Russian vehicles.

I have recently received a GWM Mark IV.A very nice model indeed. With the errata adding rules for the Mark V * I am hoping they do this model soon :?: :D
